Osaka Castle 14/26
Osaka Castle 14/26
The Osaka Castle edition of prints was created in September of 2018 at the Wassaic Project with Wassaic Imprints fellow Zack Ingram. It is an edition of 26 prints in four colors on Arches archival paper, 22in. x 22in., editioned, signed and titled on the back.
The inspiration for the design was a wall at the Osaka Castle in Osaka, Japan. The interlocking stones and their pitted surfaces are recreated using hand drawn textures and color halftones. It is a repeating tile print so that when viewed together with other prints in the edition it forms a continuous pattern. The execution of this print uses color halftone, flood spot color and hand drawn techniques to create a full range of colors from only 4 color process inks (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Key). As with any silkscreen edition there are minor natural variations inherent to the process. The print comes with a certificate of authenticity.
